Art is My Life, Art is My Work.
Since the days of my youth…we’re talking four years old… when I produced my first mural; smiley faces on my bedroom wall, (If mom and dad had only copyrighted my creation!) art, and creativity have been the constant thread of my existence. And while those smiling faces on my bedroom wall might not have been the decorating choice of my parents, they took the hint and art supplies became my default “toys.”
Now, several years…decades…OK, nearly fifty years later, that constant thread has held and grown stronger. I have more art supplies than clothes, or shoes, or about anything else for that matter. I get paid to draw and paint. Faux and decorative finishes, murals, graphics, and illustrations. I fabricate jewelry, sculpt with fabric, clay and other media, experiment with felting, and oh yes, I paint – My evening job.
I also design and paint scenery and backdrops for events, television and theatre – My day job.
Art has provided me with a house, two dogs; Jeffy and Izzy, a garden, and a car that runs reliably, and a different way to look at the world. Art is my life, Art is my work.
